Faculty for the Future Awards
The Faculty for the Future Awards provide funding for female students in the sciences from developing countries to pursue PhD studies at the best universities abroad. This program was launched in 2004 by the Schlumberger Foundation to generate conditions that inspire more young women to pursue scientific disciplines.
The award covers tuition, bench fees, living expenses and visas for the student’s stay abroad in addition to a yearly stipend and health benefits. Grants can be as high as USD 50,000 per year for PhD courses and up to USD 40,000 for post-doc research programs.

ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents
The ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents is a new scholarship program established by the Alliance of International Science Organization (ANSO) in 2018. It is an international non-governmental scientific organization created in 2018 by 37 education and science institutes from around the world. It aims to improve regional and global capacity in science and technology, human livelihoods and wellbeing, and broader S&T cooperation and communication.
The scholarship provides financial support, skill-building opportunities, and a supportive environment to nurture international students’ scientific interests. It awards 200 Master’s scholarships and 300 PhD scholarships each year to international students.

VLIR-UOS Scholarship
VLIR-UOS offers scholarships to students from developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to study a masters by research programme at universities or university colleges in Flanders. The scholarships cover tuition fees, travel and insurance costs, and living expenses.
The scholarship programme also supports partnerships between universities and university colleges in Flanders and in the South, looking for innovative responses to global and local challenges. It stimulates cooperative projects between professors, researchers and lecturers, awards grants to students and professionals, and helps to reinforce the development-relevant internationalization of higher education in Flanders.
